Start of summer holiday!

As usual my post is very late, it is coming to the end of the summer vacation and I'm blogging about the beginning..... Well, being late is better than no posts right? *wink*

Bubble-crazy Chris can blow bubbles on the balcony for hours....

Ivan was trying to blow a really big one for his little brother.

We tried to teach Ivan to ride his bicycle without the training wheels!

Daddy was running back and forth, back and forth... then Ivan wanted to do something else then riding the bike and daddy was quietly happy about it coz it was TIRING!!!

Chris wanted to try as well but his legs were a little bit too short to peddle all the way....

which made he a little frustrated and angry.  Don't worry small guy, soon you'll be able to!

Summer means a lot of play time outdoor!

Wild strawberries waiting for the one who is determine to get it - doesn't matter how long it takes.  (I thought it would be extremely mean to pick the strawberries, even though I wasn't even sure if the tiny guy is going for it...)

Wild strawberries, raspberries and red currents growing everywhere! I just need to send the kids out to get their daily dose of vitamin C! :D

Our midsummer weekend

Midsummer is a big event in Sweden.  Swedes usually send midsummer's eve having a feast, drinking and singing with families and friends.  We usually spend midsummer with my mother-in-law, but this year we decided to just take it easy at home.

We went for a walk in the nature reserve in our neighbourhood.

Angel made a midsummer cake with strawberries of course!

On midsummer's day, we invited Mavis and Fredrik to come over and wrap rice dumplings.  I know that the  dumpling festival is over, but here in Sweden, we really don't care what season or festival it is, we do what we want, whenever we want! :D

Summer is here!

After much anticipation, summer has finally landed! And it landed with a boom! It looked like this during early June...  

... some flowers had started blooming and grass peeking out from the thawed ground...

... and a few days later, BOOM! The grass are high and green and flowers blooming everywhere!

We found a hatched bird's egg while we were out walking!

 

Summer also means the end of the school year.  Ivan will be starting in a primary school next year, which means that he will no longer be in the same school as Alexander.  They are the best buddies!

Chris will be going to school without Ivan when school starts.  Good opportunity for him to gain some independence!

Spring is finally here! Some days the temperature is so high it actually feels like summer!  Flowers are blooming and the grass is green, summer is pretty!  

Spring does put people in a good mood.  Before it was cold and dark, and that makes people behave in a strange way like....

 ....asking "Why? Why? Why is the winter so long?"...

... the winter put me in a gloomy mood...

and gave me headache.... oh ok, I think Angel was trying to say that it made her think more.... (I doubt...)

"What?! Spring is just around the corner?!" 

So she gave her winter jacket a cold look and uttered, "Make sure you stay away now... or else...", before shoving it away in the dark corner of the wardrobe.  She then put on the summery shorts and tshirt and baked!

She also whipped up some cream....

 and assembled a cake....

Chocolate chip is a must!

 She also made dinner some time ago. Hamburger!

 It was important to make sure that the meat was cooked properly.

We're all glad that spring is here! And as I am typing this post, I think summer has already arrived, looking forward to enjoying ice cream under the sun and all things sweet like these babies!
