The Wedding!

Warning! This post is another one of the "picture-laded" posts, so don't say you haven't been warned! :D


We spent our past weekend in Gothenburg for our good friends' wedding.  We spent the night over at another dear friend's place and we went to Liseberg on Sunday! Phew, talk about an activity-filled weekend!


We drove Polly to my mother-in-law's house who had kindly agreed to dog-sit for us over the weekend.  Then we drove about one and a half hour to our dear friend, Sima's place to offload our stuff and had coffee before we changed and proceeded to the wedding venue.

The wedding was held in the Botanical Garden in Gothenburg, which was a beautiful place and flowers were blooming everywhere.  The kids were kinda tired since we had been on the road since 9am in the morning, especially Chris.

He tends to turn into a big "plaster" when he gets tired...

 Here's Fredrik's (the groom) father waiting eagerly for the couple to arrive.  He is a very sweet person, the speech he gave during the dinner was filled with sweet memories of different phases of Fredrik's life until he met Mavis.  Awwww..... so sweet!

They finally arrived!

Hello, my beautiful!  

Mavis is a friend whom I met on FB some years ago.  Another mutual friend of ours (who is another very nice and helpful person!) introduced us because Mavis is from Malaysia and I'm from Singapore.  We get along great and at the same time we get to know her then boyfriend, now hubby, Fredrik who is the funniest person we have ever met!  Our family truly enjoys spending time with them.  Mavis is teaching belly dancing and I attended her course for beginners some time ago (and found out that I'm missing the muscles needed to move my body like her.... =.=").

Yes, they both said "YES!"

Now we could blow the bubbles! 

This must be highlight of day for Chris! He is just crazy about bubbles! :D

We're all so happy for both of them!

Chris wasn't cooperating at all, he had more important stuff to attend to...

Dinner was Indonesian buffet! Food was great and it was so nice to be able to taste food that reminded me of home...

And we found out that this small guy loves keropok (prawn cracker)!

The newly-wed entered the dining hall with style! The belly dancer (I think her name is Anna.) is a dance mate of Mavis and boy, she is sooooo goooood! She obviously has all the right muscles that I'm missing.... I was so envious, if only I could shake my behind like her! Hmmm... maybe hubby can invent some sort of motor for me to be attach to my behind.... *wondering*

They had their first serious discussion after they got married, "Honey, you cut into the ribbon." "Should I cut above or below the ribbon?"....

"I will feed you with all my love for the rest of my life."  No, Mavis did not say that, it was the funny voice in my head, which pops up now and again...

Legoland and Odense Zoo, Denmark

We went for a 3 days 2 nights trip in Denmark last week.  The main purpose of making the 6+ hours  drive was to visit Legoland. Although dogs are welcome in Legoland, we chose to leave Polly with my mother-in-law so she would get a few days of pampering! ^.^  So we drove down to my MIL's place a day before to spend the night there, and from there was a 5+ hours drive to Billund, Denmark.

Now it's time to bombard you with lots of picture! Brace yourself! ^o^

 It's always nice to have sleepy kids in the car... unfortunately it was not always like that.  Our road trips are usually kids chattering/singing/fighting/crying/screaming with "Are we there yet?" injected in by Ivan every 20 minutes, then followed by blissful silence for about half to 1 hour, and the cycle repeats again.  There were many occasions where we just want to dash out of the car, ran around in circle, hold our ears with our hands and scream....

Polly was really pampered by farmor! She got to sit on the sofa and sleep in farmor's bed at night.  My MIL told us she had to carry Polly when she brought her out for a walk because she refused to walk! Well, for us, we drag her until she has no choice but to keep walking... And hubby told MIL that since Polly is still a puppy, it'll be good for her to just stick to dog food for now, and MIL replied that she totally agreed, she wouldn't feed Polly anything else since it wouldn't be fun to have a dog with upset tummy.  And when we picked her up on our way home, my MIL happily announced that Polly likes meatballs and sausages! :D  We agreed that Polly was also on holiday when she was at farmor's! ^.^

Making a "toilet break" stop on the way to Denmark.  My MIL had very kindly prepared a picnic basket for us before we left, so sweet of her!

As always, Chris was not in the picture because he had more important stuff to do, like picking stones...

Finally we arrived!

First stop, Miniland.

The small details were just amazing! There is people, animals, lamp posts, plantations and trucks, trains, buses, ships which moved. 

Singapore Airlines! The Airbus 380.

Look! It's the ice cream truck (Glassbilen) which we're all familiar with!

Göta Canal in Sweden! The boat actually sailed through the canal just like a real one!

Reminds me so much of "Minecraft".... everything is quite squarish....

Next, Animal Safari.

This is obviously a ride for smaller kids....

Bigger "kid" would have to "pack" himself in! Heeheehee!

So Legoland has thoughtfully setup "play corner" like this at the queue to keep children occupied.

There is still plenty of other rides and areas where small kids can have a lot of fun.

And we had to get some souvenirs before we left.

On our drive back the next day, we decided to stop by Odense Zoo.

We paid for the tickets (which weren't cheap) but all Chris was interested was this balloon..... which you can see from outside.... without having to pay for the tickets.....! So throughout the trip in the zoo, he was constantly pointing at the balloon.... =.="

After our visit at the zoo, it was 5 hours drive back to pick up Polly at my MIL's place and then another 1 hour plus drive back home.  

When we were almost home, Ivan asked,"Are we going to Legoland?"  Well, we'll be back again for sure!

A box filled with goodies and love all the way from Singapore!!

Yum! I know I can make my own kaya here but I can't replicate the taste of home... and the newspaper which was used to wrap the kaya had a lot of pictures of local delights! Hmmm..... fried prawn noodles!!! *drool*

Thank you so much Annie! I feel really bad that you have to spend so much on postage.  With your twin princesses now growing at super speed, expenses must be rising like the property prices in Singapore! You don't have to send me big packages in future, maybe a card now and then, because just knowing that you're thinking of me is enough to make me happy.

Thank you and I really appreciate your thoughtfulness and most of all, I'm grateful to have friends like you in my life.  Love you!
