After taking off his old cast, the doctor sent him for an x-ray to see if the bones are growing alright. From the x-ray, we could see that his bones have all fused together perfectly and all we can see are small cracks where the bones broke! The doctor was happy with the result and hubby and I were amazed at how fast his bones healed themselves! It has been only 1 and a half month since he broke it and the doctor did mention that it would take about 3 months for him to heal. I guess being a fast-sprouting pre-teen plays a big part in why he was healing so fast!
So the doctor said that maybe it would be ok to go without the cast now. She then went ahead to check his leg from his thigh to his toes and when she was pressing at the sides where the bones broke, Jovan said that it was a little bit painful there. She decided then that to be on the safe side, she'll put a short cast on for him for another month. She also wants Jovan to start walking a little with the injured leg (with crutches) and when he feels more confident, to walk without the crutches. Jovan was also given a shoe for his injured leg, so that he can walk around and not dirty the cast.
As of today, his is walking around without the crutches and if not for the cast, I believe he will be playing football and running around now! His next appointment is in August and by then, the cast should come off for good! *keeping fingers crossed*

Good to know that Jovan is doing much better. Young bones will heal faster, which is a blessing. When do the kids go back to school?
